My short time as Blog Master is finishing today and I’ll be handing over to colleagues Jane and Barbara for the rest of August. That doesn’t mean that I will stop blogging – if I see an issue that captures my imagination I’ll be sure to post something here.

In the meantime I have been reading a number of interesting articles recently – here are a few of my favourites…

  • This article on the Economist’s Free Exchange Blog about the British Economy. Interesting discussion of ineffective monetary policy. A Keynesian liquidity trap?

  • Some interesting supply and demand influences can be found in this BBC News article on global food prices…

  • Manchester United are floating 10% of the company on the New York Stock Exchange. Will the price falling already will this be another Facebook? Also have a look at this earlier post by Ken Brown on the Facebook flotation if you are interested.

  • Finally some light-hearted advice on the use of PowerPoint from Tim Harford, the Undercover Economist

Thanks for all your comments on my Olympic Gold article – I’ve come back to you in the discussion feed!
