•  The Economist’s Free Exchange Blog discusses the euro crisis in comparison to 2008. There are some striking similarities between then and now, and a eurozone meltdown could have a similar impact on the global banking system to the collapse of Lehman Bros. in 2008.

•  Tesco has made a profit of £1.9bn but this is the worst sales performance for the supermarket giant in 20 years. Other supermarkets, notably Sainsbury’s, have been doing rather better in a poor economic climate. Perhaps the competitive landscape is changing in the supermarket industry?
