It’s October and, therefore, time for my term of office as Blog Master for the Edinburgh Business School business blog.

I am responsible for the Project Management course and I’ll be making a couple of related posts over the next few weeks.

I am also Director of the Edinburgh Business School Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) programme and I thought I would take this opportunity to say a few words about this.

Edinburgh Business School is justifiably famous for its MBA programme. It is important to appreciate, however, that Edinburgh Business School also offers an established and growing DBA programme.

The Edinburgh Business School DBA is a kind of extension of the MBA programme. It offers the opportunity for MBA graduates, and other suitably qualified entrants, to continue their studies to full doctoral research level. Candidates are encouraged to develop research in directly applied areas of business and management. They often conduct research within their own companies and organisations, which can be extremely valuable in terms of improving efficiency and competitiveness.

You can find more information about the Edinburgh Business School DBA programme and read some DBA graduate testimonials here on the programme web pages.

If you would like to take a look at some completed Edinburgh Business School DBA theses you can use the British Library website. Simply enter the name of any of the testimonial students above and you will be able to view a copy of their completed thesis.

I’ll be posting further DBA blog posts from time to time, as will other members of the Edinburgh Business School DBA programme team.
