EBS Partner Conference 2012

Edinburgh Business School staff, Faculty members and delegates from Edinburgh Business School’s regional offices, partners and representatives gather together for the 5th International Partner Conference

Edinburgh Business School welcomed partners from every continent bar Antarctica to its 5th International Partner Conference at Edinburgh Business School’s headquarters between 1-3 August 2012.

The main purposes of the conference were to share experiences of partnership models and different types of academic support, to enhance activities across all aspects of the partnerships, and most importantly, to reinforce the good working relationships and develop further the international network delivering and managing the programmes.

More than 50 delegates comprising Edinburgh Business School regional offices and partners and representatives from 19 learning partners that provide academic support for students in their respective countries were in attendance. Some 23 countries were represented and the international nature of Edinburgh Business School programmes and partnerships was reinforced by various partners providing insights into the student experience they offer in some of EBS’s most successful markets; Zambia, Uganda, and Ukraine.

EBS Partner Conference 2012The largest delegation was from Edinburgh Business School’s largest and longest standing partnership; the School of Business & Computer Science in Trinidad and Tobago. There was also a great representation from our collaborative partner in Switzerland, FHNW. The conferences would not be the same without these lively colleagues!

We were also delighted to welcome new partners to conference from our growing network around the world.

EBS Partner Conference 2012Presentations were made on a number of new developments, including: E-Books, new course websites, initiatives to enhance the content of the course websites using new technologies, the launch of the business blog and the launch of a new Partner Network website, designed to support Approved Learning Partner processes, interactions and communications. More information on all of these initiatives will be available later this year.

A celebratory evening was held at Dundas Castle where delegates had time to unwind over dinner and enjoy some Scottish dancing accompanied by some rather funky upbeat Scottish music by the band, Tartanium.
